Parish Council
The Parish Council is the third tier of local government, after the County and District Councils, but is a non political body and is in the best position to represent the views of the local community.
Parish Councils are funded principally by an annual precept. The precept is added to council tax collected by the local authority and then is paid to parishes. Parish Councils can apply for other funding such as grant funding and awards, but they do not receive funds direct from central government, as principal authorities do.
Parish Councillors are elected and co-opted residents of the parish and give their time on a voluntary basis.
They can problem solve at a local level and raise any relevant issues which can also be dealt with accordingly.
The Council members meet formally every other month, on a Monday evening, and the calendar of future meetings is as follows.
May 8th
July 10th
September 11th
November 13th
The Annual General Meeting takes place on Friday 9th June, to which all residents are invited.
The Parish Council work closely with Stratford District and Warwickshire County Councils.
